I'm hoping to quilt it in time for Christmas 2010...it will be here before we know it.
Speaking of time....how is everyone adjusting to Daylight Savings? I'm not doing so well with it. I feel out-of-sorts with the world kind of. I think I'm getting better each day, but I don't like feeling like this at all. I really don't notice the extra hour of daylight at the end of the day because I'm tired and it's been too cold to be outside for any length of time. Hopefully Spring will bring nice weather.
I have been busy sewing on my pies and tarts, quilting on Allie's quilt and sewing the binding down on a guild challenge quilt. I'll show pictures when I get these projects finished.
On a side note...it's been two years today since my Dad passed away and it's still so hard to believe that he's really gone. We're all doing fine, but I know that we all miss him so much. Here's a picture of my family as I will always remember us in my heart.
Remember those coats Pam? What's with Kevin's red cowboy hat?! And that sweater of Dad's...lol
Here is a picture of my Dad a few years ago...still a great looking guy!
I love you Dad! ranette

Very nice family photo and photo of your dad. Your snowman quilt is wonderful BUT don't say Christmas will be here before we know it...NOT what I want to hear just coming off a very severe-weather winter!!! LOL
I LOVE that quilt! I would show it all year round, it is just too adorable.
I can't adjust to this time either. It is dark when I go to work and the sun kills my eyes on the way home. Summer was here yesterday as we were in the mid 80's. it is supposed to cool off to the 70's in a few days and I hope it hurries. My favorite time of year is Oct - April and it is almost over. :(
What a nice family picture! Your dad is watching over you now smiling.
The quilt is fantastic and I think you'll be ready for the holidays when it rolls around again.
Have you looked int the mens dept lately? Argyle sweaters!! Your dad would be fashionable right now!!!
What a darling quilt, Ranette. I love that fabric, as I have a quilt top ready to quilt out of the same fabric line.
Yes, your Dad's sweater is actually back in style.
Love the quilt Ranette.
I remember that picture. It made me laugh and cry all at the same time. We all looked goofy and so darn cute at the same time. I don't know how that was possible, but we did it. Yes, I miss him too. Had trouble sleeping last night.

PS You are right, Christmas will be here before you know it and everybody will be saying "how did it get here so quick?", but you said it first!!
I heard daylight saving time is already introduced in the States. Here in the Netherlands we will switch at the end of March. I think it always feels like jetlag. I love your quilt! It's just beautiful. And I think so too: your father is with you. Including his sweater!
Your Post Card cuties is so sweet! I have mine "cut out" but nothing actually done yet! I love the family photo... how nice to have memories of your dad and family to cherish.
Hi Ranette,
What a lovely winter quilt. I love the angel snowman, he looks like he might be cold.

gosh we are at the end of daylight savings and the kids have to get up for school before the sun is up.........only a few more weeks to go before it goes back to normal.....
you should never forget your dad and remember all the good times you had together.......
Your quilt is gorgeous, I especially love the border treatment. We haven't finished daylight saving yet. Your Dad sure was a handsome man with kind eyes.
I love this quilt. I have the pattern thinking maybe it would be my first applique project, but sadly I feel it will never happen. I love seeing completed projects!
The snowman quilt is adorable! I like the red border surrounding the quilt very much.
I understand your missing your Dad, I miss mine too. It was two months this week.
Your quilt finish is wonderful - love the pattern and the fabrics you used and such beautiful work!!
You dad looks like a very kind gentle man.
Love the snowman quilt! Congratulations on finishing it.
What a great quilt!
Beautiful Christmas quilt. Just think you have 9 months to get it quilted. Then you'll be way ahead of everyone else.

Hi Ranette,
Congratulations on finishing your quilt, its looks wonderful.
Its good to remember those we have lost, its sad they are gone, but how much worse it would have been if we had never known them...enjoy your memories :)
Hugs, Sharon
What a very beautifull quilt. Beautifull fabrics and colors. And the picture of your dad is a very nice one.
Your snowman quilt is simply stunning!! Love it...it fits the snow in your yard today as well....a far cry from the extra warmth of sun we've had here. (wish I could send you some)
I'm sorry about your dad. I still miss my grandma, and it's been more than two years. Some people are just ...irreplaceable!
Your quilt is BEAUTIFUL. I love the fabric and your execution is really nice. That will be a great touch to Christmas decor!
Wow I am impressed with your finished quilt top! Mine is totally abandoned. Can't wait to see it in use at Christmas, be sure to share photos!
Lovely family photo and your Dad had such a warm gentle face, the way Daddies should be! Sorry for your loss but I am sure he is still by your side. xx
Hope you are feeling better today. My dad has been gone 22 years. It is tough sometimes. Your dad was a good looking guy. I love his yellow sweater. Your brother is so cute in that hat. It reminds me of how my boys always wore hats and capes. lol
Love your little snowman quilt. Great border.
