I think I'm in love....

Either that or I've caught a fever....spool fever that is!

I've been seeing these darling little spool blocks pop up on blogs all over the world and I wondered about them.....I watched Supergoof make her spool quilt and my interest was peaked, but I was concentrating on my red and white Nearly Insane and other projects....then Janet of Quiltsalott fame started talking about them and I just knew that I had to try it. Well I shouldn't have because I love them. I've only made two so far and I won't be able to dedicate my Saturday's to making them like some quilter's in the Netherlands and now all over the world (I love the quilting community, it's really such a small place), but you can be assured that I will make a couple here and there and I will have a "to go" case filled with the makings of spools, so if I do have a few spare minutes I can whip one of these little babies out. It makes me happy, what else can I say?!

I, too, have seen quite a few of these blocks on blogs recently. They are adorable!

Would you mind sending the cutting instructions to make these? They are just THE perfect size for me!

The fabric that you used is one of my very favorites...I have used it the past couple of years for my siggy blocks as I think it represents the area where I live, wine country!

Thanks Ranette!

Ranette, does that have any goofy seams like Y seams? Because it looks like it is all innocent but I don't trust it.

The spools are popping up every where in Blogland. Enjoy stitching them. I haven't caught the fever yet but it is tempting me!

i'm with Penny - i think i could not whip out one of those babies - it would whip me, instead ... i don't trust it, either

Oh, these are sooo cute!!! Are they hard to make? Could a newbie like me make them? I have not seen these out there in blogland yet, but if I had I would have been all over it and bugging you about it. lol

Hi Ranette,
You make gorgeous quilts! Especially the red and white NI. I saw you made the Truly Scrumptious Quilt also, did you see mine?
I love your blog and I'm a follower from now on. Good luck on your new klosjes-addiction. Willeke

What triggered the spools to travel all over the world? So funny! Not for me though: too much work involved to sew all these small thingys. The quilt however is gorgeous. This Dutch quilter has other plans for saturdays *lol*

Well done Ranette,
1 down, only a few hundred more to do. They are addictive but easy to do and look adorable. Will look forward to the progress.

Hi Ranette,
I love to see how so many quilters get caught by this fever..
Glad you joined in the fun too!

One litte thing: it's not that we "dedicate" our saturdays on making klosjes; we do that whenever we want to, but only on (every) saturday we share our updates.

Have fun making klosjes.

What a wonderfull klosje you've made. And the fun is: you can make them all week and just blog about them on saturdays. I've also just caught the fever. It's fun to see that the klosjes have taken the world! :-) Have fun!
