On Saturday Jay took his Mom to a wedding in Kansas so I scheduled an all day sew day with Kathy and Susan. Kara and her friend Jacob came later in the day. Jacob worked on his sketchpad although Kara had him sewing just a little bit last night. I forgot to take pictures of everyone, but it was a fun day! Here are my Nearly Insane blocks that I completed yesterday.
And here's a start of the block I feared!
I'm not going to use this little le moyne in the block, but it is my first attempt of 3 to get it right. This one is OK, but I paper pieced it and it's a little thick. I finally gave in and started hand piecing the stars which I should have just done in the first place, but no I had to waste about 3 hours messing around with it! :o/
I may get to work on some more NI blocks today. Oh and the heat finally broke a tiny bit because we had a cold front last night. Instead of getting up to 104 like yesterday it's only supposed to be in the 90's....lol We did get rain though which is much appreciated!

I can't believe you did all those gorgeous Insane blocks done in one day. I can barely manage to get a block a week done. I adore all the red/white fabrics you have used.
You weren't kidding when you said you like red huh? I love the blocks. Then again, I always loves your blocks.
Are you doing most of your NI blocks handpieced or are you doing a combination of methods? After looking at your blocks I got my DJ back out (Insanity Revisited) and working on a star block in between working outside.

your nearly insane blocks are spectacular Ranette.
I was made a grandmother early and I must tell you that even though I am still in my 40's it is very taxing especially when you are not used to little ones being around.
The blocks are fabulous, you have some nice fabrics too. I fear the little stars as well so I'll take a leaf out of your book and hand piece them eventually.
I am dreading this block too. Let me know any hints you discover as O am not a handpiecer.
Cute little girls.
Love your blocks. Once you start piecing the star it will get easier. I have handmade some and it does take a little practice to begin with but you will get it.
