I affectionately call this quilt Nana's Nosegays, although the real name of the pattern is Nosegay for Mother from the Home Sweet Home book by Barb Adams and Alma Allen. The fabrics are all 1930's reproductions that have been Rit tan dyed to give the quilt an aged look. It really is brighter than it photographs and also it will have a scalloped border when quilted. It was a fun quilt to make because it combines hand applique and regular machine piecing. Here's a closeup of an applique block.
Since I woke up before the crack of dawn this morning I had a little time to myself and I chose to make another NI block.
Well now it's only 5pm and I'm ready for bed...lol...I really am a little old woman at heart!

i love that nosegay quilt - when you first posted about it i HAD to order the book ... and it is still sitting on the bookshelf where i left it - ha ha ha!
it's dark and it's cold and my head just WILL NOT wrap around time changes - i'm ready for bed, too
Oh I love that Nosegay quilt, I have that book and have been wanting to make that one for ages, must get it out again. Yours is beautiful xo
My, my, Ranette - that nosegay is impressive. Can't wait to see it finished - in person!
The Nosegay quilt is wonderful. And a good idea to overdye it for an aged look. I don't think I would have thought of doing that on the 30's fabrics. I like the look.
I've always been very fond of the nosegay block and your quilt is gorgeous. The scalloped border sounds so wonderful for it.
The nosegay quilt is beautiful

The NI block and quilt are lovely! I like the combination of pieced and applique:)
You make 30's fabric look good. I've never heard of dying it before. It looks like an antique. You've opened my eyes to a whole new medium. Maybe I will have to practice on my scraps, that I was going to throw away. Great job!
Lovely quilt. Here's hoping your quilt holders get well soon!
I do remember that quilt and I love it. The applique blocks are my favorite of course. Great block too.
I am so glad you show us a NI block again. It is beautiful. And so is your Nosegay (have no idea what it means) quilt top. I met Mr. Murphy and his law last week end. Try to catch up now.
I love, love the Nosegay quilt. I wonder if it is one that I could make. I also love your fabric choices in it. It even looks great draped over the fence.
