Today is my mother-in-law Dorene's birthday, so I decided to whip up this table topper sized little quilt for her to use over the holiday's. I made it with the lovely new French General line Rouenneries. You know what? I think I could work with this line of fabric from now until forever and not get bored. I just love it....the way it feels is amazing and the colors are so rich and luscious. I may have to make myself one of these little quilts too!
It has been a busy, tough week around here, but I did find some time to bake Banana Bread.
I use my Grandma's recipe and it's always a favorite with my husband and girls.
I've been plugging away on my Winter sampler every evening and I hope to have it done by Thanksgiving. Well at least the stitching part and then I'll try to find time to make the blocks that go around it.
I did get the house cleaned yesterday afternoon/evening and that always makes me happy. I just feel more "at peace" when things are in their places and the floor is clean...lol Our family is going through a tough season right now and I guess I feel like I have some control when I have a clean house and the laundry is done. Allie's leg continues to improve, so that's a good thing.
Have a great Friday the 13th!

I am so impressed with no only the sampler but the banana bread and the overall homey type things you are doing. Good for you! I think the fall is a time when I want to fold in, hunker down and hold my family close.
LOL
I LOVE banana bread, but had to chuckle when I read your blog title...
Schnibbles?!??
Almost sounded like "Kibbles and Bits"!
*still chuckling over here*
And YES, I LOVE your new choice of fabrics!!!

every time i see this line of fabric i think of you! i love the schnibble ... you DO need one for yourself!
when my oldest daughter needs to exert some control over her life, she has her eyebrows waxed ... back off little bitty brow hairs!
Oh, I do like your table topper. I have so much been wanting some of the French General line of fabric. Yours is the first I have seen something made with it. I made up my mind I would need to have something specific in mind before buying any of it.
I think you need one for yourself too! It is beautiful.
Mmmmmmmmmm, banana bread. LOL
I googled that fabric just the other day to see what it was all about and yep: it's absolutely gorgeous and so is the quilt. I agree with others: make one for yourself!
Another amazing quilt. Makes me want ot go out and buy some of that fabric.
You all take care, Brandie

Yumm,..banana bread!
The table topper is lovely, I love the reds in that line. Have you posted the recipe for the banana bread? it looks delicious.
You continue to be in our prayers, my friend.
I went to my local shop this morning, looking for the French General fabric. They just got it in and haven't put anything out but for a couple of jelly-rolls. I can't wait to go back and buy some.

Lovely quilt. I saw some of that fabric a few weeks ago and you are right it is beautiful.
Hope things in your life improve.
I can almost smell that bread! Love the Schnibbles...
Your wall hanging is stunning! Love the heavy use of red (no surprise for me here). One of my favorite things I've seen using French General's collection. Thanks for sharing.
I love French General; I agree, I could use it forever.
