Latest finish....

I'm not quite done sewing down the binding on this quilt, but for all practical purposes it's done. The fabric is Prairie Paisley by Moda and right now I can't for the life of me remember what the pattern is. I still have enough fabric from this line to make another quilt

I'm still very busy at work, but I've been trying to keep the house up in little bits and that way I have a few minutes to sew every day. That's good for my mental health. Somehow sitting at my machine or picking up a needle and thread almost instantly lowers my blood pressure and I can feel my muscles loosening up.

Here is a newly finished block for my Nearly Insane quilt. Not perfect, but done!

I think that makes 47 blocks done. I wish I could finish this quilt this year, but I'm not sure I can.

I continue with my lucky streak....I won a $25 (I think) gift certificate to the Quilting Post (local quilt shop) yesterday at the guild meeting. I have not won anything much in my life since I won at bingo in 2nd grade and then another girl got to pick out the prize before me...lol...and I was mad. I think the prize was a package of barrettes, but I'm not sure.

Time to go feed my family some dinner. Have a Blessed and relaxing evening!

love the new quilt!

but i gotta say, i don't see how working on that NI block could LOWER your blood pressure OR loosen up your muscles ... my shoulders would be up around my ears if i tried to stitch it!

Beautiful quilt! And a very nice block you made for your NI. I'll check you blog for more NI blocks.

Ranette, the prairie paisley quilt is just beautiful! I love the red as the setting squares. The NI block looks good too-those little diamonds are really fiddly, aren't they?

Its a great pattern too.
I know the feeling put the needle in my hand and I feel a weight coming off my shoulders.

Wow, that quilt is so eyecatching, so much work too by the looks of it!! I agree with you about stitching, a little each day makes me a much calmer, somehow more fulfilled person. Congrats on the winning streak, that's fun xo

Love the new quilt. Wish I could be there to see it in person. Your NI block looks perfect to me!! I am finding the getting to stitch everyday is a good thing. The time just seems to fly by while you are doing it and I do feel myself relaxing a bit. Yes, I am HOOKED!!! Still think you need to go to Vegas while your streak is hot. lol

Wow, you really should go to the casino. You could win big and quit work so you could quilt all the time. It was GREAT getting to meet you and Kara today. Leslie and I had a really good time and the high point was seeing you!
