JanieBright update...

Poor JanieBright has been sorely neglected the last several months, but since our local Dear Jane group is now meeting twice a month, I decided to pull her out and make a block here and there. I put on Row F at the meeting last week.
And I even made two blocks.
I'm still way, way behind on Triangles, but I will try to prep a couple of those this weekend. I've got all of my DJ stuff set up in my sewing area off of the kitchen so that I can sneak in there while doing other things and make some progress.

This morning I made this weeks Civil War block, which I think is called Lincoln's Platform. I didn't follow my own advice on making those half square triangles, which is to cut big and then trim, so I had to make this block twice :)

I also pulled fabric to make Cracked Pots with Yvette and a couple of other ladies.

I am using Jo Morton fabric which I pulled from my stash. If anyone is interested in sewing along with us, just let me know and we can make a list.
Time to get busy. I'm starting a quilt for my niece who is getting married this summer. Lots of curved piecing, yikes, so I'd better brush up on those skills.
Have a terrific Saturday! ranette

congratulations with your Dutch quilt! It looks fabulous. For one moment I thougt you knew how to speak Dutch! I think your DJ is very special because of the bright colours you use. I only saw more traditional colours in DJ quilts. I like your new project too. I can't start a new one cause I promised myself to finish (a lot of) other quilts first.

You really inspire me Ranette! Just waiting until I can get into my new room and then I am going do some patchwork blocks! I have Sylvia's Bridal Sampler book, thought I would start with a few blocks from that & see how I go!

I do like your JanieBright very much! Those twice monthly meetings will be good inspiration to keep the momentum going I'd imagine.

Ranette, your advice on those half square triangles, was so good, too. I like your twice-made block - those blues/chocolates are lovely.

Regards, Sue.

OOOOOOOH!!!! I have a Rainbow Jane going that looks similar to your bright Jane. Did you get your fabrics from Anina? I haven't worked on mine in forever. I think I may dig it out and join you.

Of course I LOVE your fabrics you chose for the Cracked Pots quilt. It would be great if we had a group going. So far I have 2 other people that want to join us. I have all my fabrics out and will cut sometime this month.

This is a completely different DJ. Gorgeous! Now I understand why you call this quilt the JanieBrightquilt.
The Cracked Pots pattern looks good too. Have fun making it.

Being in a group does help motivate a person to work on a quilt.
I saw Yvette's fabrics. It will be fun to follow along to see how they look.

Do you just LOVE making the rest of us look bad? haha Everything you do is so complicated and time consuming. I love the bright colors--but mine would have to be 12" nine patches!
