What a great day to be inside sewing! It's cold...really cold and gray today. No snow, so I guess that's a good thing. But it's warm and it smells really good in my house right now. Not only is the house clean...WooHoo...but I've got Honey Wheat Bread baking and my mouth is watering!
I have my next part done to Lori's Midnight Stars quilt-along and I even got carried away and worked ahead.I love how this sweet little quilt is looking. I think I'm going to hand quilt it, so it may never get done...lol
I'd gladly piece somebody a little quilt like this if they would hand quilt mine...any takers????
I also did Barbara Brackman's Civil War block for the week, 4 Texas Tears.Shhh...don't tell anyone, but I had to piece the center part twice. Sloppy piecing I guess! Here's all four blocks together.Forgive the wonky photo. I had to basically hold the camera over my head to take this picture. Kara still has her quilt blocks laid out on the design wall and I have no space. That needs to change very soon...hint, hint. Anyway, they look pretty good together and I'm using up some of my Civil War reproduction fabric stash. Now all of the fabrics may not be reproductions, but I'm not a perfectionist.
Oh and thank you honey for all of your help with the house :0)
Uh oh, I hear the oven timer....see you later! ranette

LOVE those civil war blocks. I got as far as printing the patterns. Maybe I will get a wind soon and whip em all out at the crack of dawn.
Love your blocks and wish I could smell your bread baking here at my house. Sounds like Kara needs her own design wall =o) So glad you're feeling a bit better!
Those Civil War blocks look so good that I may be encouraged to buy some nicer fabrics and have another go at them. Love what you have done with the other quilt too.
Love Shirley.x
I must have been smelling your bread all the way over here because an hour ago I pulled a honey wheat tinned loaf out of the oven too.
I must say the doll quilt is looking pretty darn good and so are the CW blocks, they look great together.
I hope your bread tasted as good as it sounds! Yum!!
If I wasn't such a slow hand quilter I'd quilt your midnight stars! I'm the one who has taken about 10 years to quilt her Dear Jane! LOL
Love your little Civil War blocks!!
Your Civil War blocks are beautiful. I haven't worked on them yet but have drawn them out. Nice job
Love the block on your design wall! Great colors.
So good to see you up and running again (you--not your nose! haha)
Tim had it last week, too and missed 2 days of work. You need a 2nd design wall. Tim and Aaron just installed the "Disappearing Design Wall" for me and I love it. I'll post pics soon.
Beautiful blocks as always.
To bad you can't mail your homemade bread here. It would get all moldy before it made it to TN.

I bet your house still smells like bread baking. Yum!
I wish my hand quilting was as good as my applique because I would do it for you. My quilting stitches are big. I haven't learned how to get them small yet since I don't do it much.
Beautiful Civil War blocks!
