Another week has gone by in a flash!

Can you believe how fast time goes by these days?!!!! When I was a kid the month of December seemed to last a lifetime. I wonder if that means I'm getting old...lol...probably it does, but oh well.

I've done very little sewing, but I have been to Kansas City! Jay and I drove up to his sister Lana's house Friday afternoon for a little visit. Emily came from Lawrence and her boyfriend joined us from St. Louis. It was fun to see everyone!
Here is a picture of the quilt that I made for Lana a few years ago. Sampler quilts are always a favorite with me and this one is made from all Batik fabric.

I kind of wish that I would have kept it because Lana isn't really a "quilt" type of person, but oh well I can always make another one, right ;o)

Emily and I were able to sneak away for a little quilt shop therapy. We always stop at Harpers in Overland Park. We didn't buy much there (this trip), but I just love looking at all the cute stuff they carry. Then we headed over to Quilter's Station in Lee's Summit, Missouri. I had a plan when I walked in the door of this shop and I stuck to it for the most part. I needed border fabric for my Antique Quilt and here are my purchases.

I've ordered online from both of these stores in the past and they both have my stamp of approval...lol

Well it's 18 degrees outside today and with the windchill it's 2degrees....brrrrr....I'd better save some time to bundle up. I'm thinking about having a giveaway soon so stay posted!

Have a Blessed day!

DANG but I love that quilt! Actually, it kind of reminds me of the Sylbia's Bridal Sampler I'm working on, now.

Stay warm - my best girlfriend just north of you says it is really cold.

Those fabrics are going to look super with your antique quilt. Great choices I think.

Although I'm not a batik person, your sampler is gorgeous. How could anyone not love and appreciate that work of art?

I love your batik sampler. It looks huge!!! It is possible one day she will come to appreciate your gift for what it is. As long as it isn't in the dog house!!

Your purchases are beautiful!!!!

maybe it's the name "Lana" cuz Lana wasn't a "Superman" type of person either ... and the name Fern, too - my mother thinks that quilts and homemade donuts are a total waste of resources ... i believed her about homemade donuts, but i didn't listen to her about quilts.

the batik sampler quilt is AWESOME - i LOVE batiks and i LOVE brights!

and could you PLEASE send some of your 18 degrees this way? when i got out of bed this morning it was -10 downtown (where all the heat is) and i would whine and cry, but then my tears would freeze and i'd be chipping icicles off of my face...

I love the batik sampler - such happy colours. I'm sure you need them in your climate. Tried quilter's station online but thy don't have fabrics to show. Yours are gorgeous - are they all from a particular line?

Hi Ranette,
I know that you, like all of us, or super busy around Christmas so you haven't been blogging as much lately. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy seeing all your projects, your NI blocks, etc. I miss them. Your blog always brightens my day. Have a wonderful Christmas!
