Do you label?

I have to confess, I don't usually label a quilt. Even the ones I give away. When I put that last stitch in the binding....I'm done! But since I'm putting four quilts, including my Dear Jane, in the Quilt Home Show here in Stillwater next weekend, I figured I'd better label them. I was pretty fortunate to run across some orphan blocks to use on three quilts and on the fourth I embroidered a little label.
Oh also, if you live close to Stillwater, Oklahoma and would like a ticket to the quilt show, just email me. I can't remember how much the tickets are right now, but they aren't very expensive.

I had planned to sew most of the weekend, but it hasn't worked out quite like I'd hoped. I did manage to finish 4 rows of my Pie's & Tart's quilt.

This quilt is very labor intense, but I love, love, love it. I have another 2 rows with the large circles done and when I get done with this post I'm going to go prep the tarts for applique. I'm actually thinking that I might try to hand quilt this one...we'll see when it's done if I stick to that...lol

I also made a block for this months "block lotto" for the guild meeting on Tuesday.

I usually don't get a block made in time, but I really like this leaf pattern and would love to win.

I haven't made a Nearly Insane block for over a week now. I just needed a bit of a break I think. I also need to go through the HUGE pile of fabric and straighten it out so I can see what I have. Hopefully I'll get my NI mojo back to make one next week.

The weather here is cool and cloudy...very Fall like and I LOVE it. I've got a pot of posole and pork roast cooking right now and I'm going to make some red chili and homemade flour tortillas later...yummy! I wish you could all join us :o)

Enjoy the rest of this wonderful day!

I always label my quilts. Stitch the label in the corner together with the binding. Needs only a few hand stitches more when finishing the binding.
Miss your NI blocks but the other beautiful things you show make up for them.

Love the quilt - I sure wish I could come see the show - maybe next year so be sure to have some quilts next year, too!

I have never labeled a quilt but I know I should. I don't like the way my messy handwriting looks when I print. I've had good intentions but I never want to put that ugly thing on my quilt...

i've labeled most of the quilts that i've made ... i dunno why - everybody knows who to blame with my name plastered on it, eh?

red chili and flour tortillas- yummy - especially on chilly autumn days ... but posole?!? uhm ... no thank you!

I love the new layout!

I do label my quilts, but I have only ever used preprinted labels.
The Pies and Tarts quilt is coming along nicely!
I love the fabrics in the leaf block. Good luck with winning "block lotto"!

I always label a quilt. The early ones for my family and nieces had all the hands of the family Mum, Dad, Nanny, Grandpa, Favourite Aunty and Grandma appliqued in a circle. The fabrics were each persons personality and the hands of the two children were appliqued in the centre. Had the family details with each set of hands. Just like a big hug from the family.
I guess I do label all my quilts. Only 4 have been labelled the above way though.
Have a great Day
Hugs

We were in Stillwater this past weekend for the OSU Jamboree.

Where did you get the pattern for your Pies and Tarts quilt? It's very pretty and colorful.

Yes, I label, and you should too. Sometimes the recipients of my quilts love the label as much as the quilt. I think it's because it has their name on it and that makes it VERY personal. I love your labels and your backings, too.
Leslie and I both want to come to the show Sat. but I don't know if we'll be able to. We're both working Friday and Monday. Don't know if we can handle all of that because she has fibromyalgia. If she does too much she crashes.

I'm very excited to see the pies and tarts in rows, jealous too, lol.
I try to label everything. I have three I made but haven't attached yet. I hope someone thanks me for it one day. Actuqlly, it's a good thing so I remember when I made them.

You should label every quilt! We had an exhibition of old American quilts at a museum a while back and it was great that some of them had detailed labels. Imagine your beautiful quilt you showed in your last post should travel to Europe and landed in a museum for my great grandchildren to see.....
Label them!!
(and before I forget: great autumn colours in that leaf block!!)
