It's a small world when you're a quilter. Yesterday I walked in to the local quilt store that I had only visited one other time, last November mind you and the owner who is a friend of a friend said hi Ranette and proceeded to introduce me to another customer, Susan, who is working on a Dear Jane. Well Susan and I visited and talked about the Dear Jane quilt, she is just starting and I have finished mine. Several times during our conversation she repeated my name and finally she made note that Ranette isn't a very common name and I said no, not really. Well it seems that a friend of a friend of hers in California had told her friend in an email about a quilter in Stillwater named Ranette that blogs....really small world isn't it?!?! So take that Kevin Bacon, no "Six Degrees of Separation" for me.

Oh and to the quilter in California who reads my blog....Hi there! ;o)
I'm off today and after I take the doggies to the groomer, I'm going to clean a little and sew a lot! I'm itchin to stitch. I think I'm going to start a new quilt that shouldn't take very long to put together. I've been doing a bunch of applique and I love it but I really need to hear the hum of my sewing machine.

Hope you managed to get your quilt started! I hear ya on having so many things I want to do that are stitch related but I seem to start so many new things and finish very little. One day I will just have to put all my single blocks from different projects together and make 1 quilt top. I am making progress these days but it's still slow going. I'm anxious to get back to my other hobbies as well but there just isn't enough time for everything. Boo hoo!
I was looking at my fabrics I had picked out for the postcard quilt that you're also working on and thought of you. I might have to count and see how many blocks there are and set myself a BOM challenge in the hopes that it's finished one of these years... might make it feel more manageable than thinking of it as an entire project to do at once?
I'm rambling so better sign off!
Hi Ranette, I am a new reader of your blog and i also have you listed on my blogsite. I know i am not doing as much stitching since I got on the internet, but I have also had to teach myself everything--sooo--it can be slow going at times. talk about a small world--here's my story--about 20years ago now a plane went down in a river here (think near DC) i remember watching them be able to rescue only 5 people off that plane and many died that day-- i was watching it here in NY state at the time. A couple years later I moved to the east coast of FLa and was working as a waitress in a Friendly's Rest. when a group of people came in each week same time. As i waited on them i soon discovered they were selling Amway and I needed something--so ordered. When i went to pick it up i got to know the couple who directed this group and the guy turned out to be Brett--one of the five people who survived that crash????? What a great couple they are. ( Yes--Brett still flys)
