so belated Easter wishes to all of you! It was a cold, dreary day, but I did a little bit of cooking. Here are my Hot Cross Buns, so yummy with a cup of coffee.
Chocolate Silk pie.....the hubby really likes this one!
and my first Lemon Meringue pie....Delicious, if I do say so myself...lol
I have had a chance to do a little bit of sewing in the last few weeks. I finished my houses for Cracked Pots (I'm not going to link, but you can check my last post, it has all of the links) and am now slowly working on the courthouse steps blocks.I also have my Barbara Brackman Civil War blocks up to date.Started another new project....lolI have promised myself that I cannot even prep another block of Le Jardin, by Bunny Hill, until I finish Scandinavian Christmas, even though I really, really want to!!
Oh I made a little test basket.Yikes....I loved making it and now I want to make a whole bunch of them. Maybe after Cracked Pots is finished.
I do have a couple of finished quilts to share, but I'll save those for another post. Hopefully before several weeks pass by. Thanks for the encouraging emails. I do love blogging and the good friends I've made, but lately it has come down to sewing or computer time and I've been choosing sewing time. I know there are bloggers out there that post everyday and they make tons of quilts....how the heck do they do it???? I must not be that great at time management! Also there has been lots of controversy on blogs lately and I tend to shy away from that. Plus the books reviews and giveaways....blogging seems to be going a little "commercial" if you ask me.
Anyway, enjoy the weekend and I'll be back very soon....ranette

Oh yummmmmmmyyyyyy
Love all of your projects!
i think they must not sleep cuz i can't seem to do both, either (but i don't have "mad" skills - bwah ha ha!)... your little houses are WAY cute - i'm gonna hafta go look up "Cracked Pots" ... what else? oh yeah - you've got some cute buns, Ranette!
OOOOH!! Love everything you are working on but you already knew that.
How many Courthouse steps have you made? I am jealous!!! Your houses look fantastic!
I try to post once a week and that is so hard, I can't imagine daily or several times a week. Maybe if we didn't work away from home and had more time to sew.
I caught all that controversy this morning while I was having coffee. LOL!!!
Oh, I forgot to say that I think I gained a pound looking at your blog. YUMMY!
We had the most glorious weather for Easter. I fully understand what you are saying about blogging and sewing I often find myself in the same delema. Love all your projects can we hold you to not starting anything new LOL.
Happy belated Easter to you too, Ranette! Yes, some blogs do seem to be one long commercial. I actually don't like all the giveaways. That's not why I follow a blog. I follow blogs like yours because I find your work inspiring. By the way, I LOVE your little basket. I have that book and you have inspired me to dig it out.
You have some delicious looking creations Ranette! And those houses are wonderful.
Mmm I'm coming to your place next Easter!! Your houses are looking fantastic. xo
Ohhh could I please have the recipe for the Chocolate Silk pie!!! :)
Love all your houses and Civil War blocks...I am waaay behind with them!

My goodness, you are a star the cooking skills, they all look so yummy. Sometimes I have to choose the sewing over the computer too, you're not alone but I love what you share. Your CW blocks look absolutely wonderful together and I do love your new little distraction.
O my, I'm on a diet and I could just SMELL the pictures :)
I don't do give-aways and only write about a book I bought and really like.
Neither do I care what other's write and how much they sew. Can you tell I had weeks and weeks of therapy?? *lol*
(btw: your houses are só nice!!)
Glad you're stiil there!
Hi Ranette! I Love the projects you are working on. The houses are so colorful and perfect!
Love your newest applique block too!
Again I love all of your blocks!! Beautiful work as always....The pies ...oh my and the hot cross buns look delish!! My mouth is watering just looking at them.

I love the little basket. So glad I bought that magazine. I must read blogs less than you because I don't know about the controversy (and glad I don't). We'll just stick to our own knitten', as my mom used to say.
It's so fun to see your blocks on your design wall and say to myself, "Hey, I've seen that in person!"
I know what you mean by starting something new-it's my favorite part. I'm chompin' at the bit (another mom saying) to start a new applique pattern, but I'm MAKING myself finish the "Piece of Cake" applique first. I'm getting close--maybe a couple more weeks!
You're so funny. I don't know anyone else in the quilt world who finishes one project before starting a new one. I think we all wish that was the way it was, but we get bored.
Love it all!
Your cooking looks so yum! I always leave your blog feeling so inspired and just want to make patchwork blocks! Lol! All your work is just beautiful!
