Time

I wish I had more time in every day. I'll bet everyone does though. I know that summer just began but when I look at the calendar for June, July and August, there just isn't enough time to get everything done that I want to do. Oh well I guess I'll just make the best of it!

I'm off to Tulsa with Sharon and Kathy for a Quilt Show and a couple of quilt shops today! Yeah! I haven't been anywhere for such a long time...it will be fun.

Emily and Kara are both at Wakarusa this weekend. Kara went up Wednesday with Christin. You can read all about it here www.wakarusa.com/. Tess is staying with Allie this weekend so she'll be entertained. Maybe I'll get to sew tomorrow.

Finished UFO!!!

I finished my oldest UFO....my youngest daughters baby quilt! Can you believe it?!? I started it 15 years ago and it's hand quilted....I do NOT hand quilt so this quilt lanquished in a bag for all of this time. Now don't get me wrong I've made several large quilts for this child but alas not the baby quilt until yesterday and I just decided to DO IT!!!

This is a slightly terrible picture. My hubby was the only person awake to hold the quilt and he was in the bathroom getting ready for work, so I made him hold it. LOL

Good Morning!

I'm trying to be a better blogger and post more often. It's still a bit of a strain for me as I think my life is kind of boring. I'm going to post a picture of a quilt that I gave my SIL and BIL for Christmas several years ago. I love this quilt and really enjoyed making it although Batiks aren't usually my favorite. Oh and here is a picture of my quilt group taken at a quilt show a few years ago. I am the plump one in brown...I love these ladies and don't know what I'd do without their friendship.

I need to spend more time (or get my hubby to help me) learning to wrap the words around photos and make my blog more pleasing to the eye. Goodbye for now.

It's been a long time

Time really flies when you're busy!!! Since I've last posted I finished Kara's 18th birthday quilt. Here is a picture of it. She loves it although it's not my favorite. Kara also graduated last Friday night. Yeah!!! Two down, one to go! The top picture is my three daughters taken Friday night before graduation. Aren't they pretty girls.

I've made a few Nearly Insane blocks (no pics yet) and I've joined a couple of DJ siggie swaps. Also my Mom spent a couple of nights with us. All in all it's been a pretty good month with just a few rough spots.

Well I'm off to work on my Dear Jane. I'll post more tomorrow, hopefully!

It's Thursday!

I like Thursday's ... the work week is almost over and I look forward to the weekend. I like this day because Jay comes home today and I'm getting my hair done!
Also Allie has a band concert tonight, the last of her Freshman year. My baby is growing up. I made a little progress yesterday in my sewing room. I got the binding sewed onto Kara's 18th birthday quilt. I'm still hand sewing it down. I'll post pics when I'm done with it. I made another red and white Nearly Insane block. I believe there are 37 pieces in this 6" block. Here's another basket block I did the day before.

Well I need to go do my hair before I go get my hair done...that really doesn't make sense, does it???

How can it be Monday...

again!!!! Time flies when you're having fun, I guess! It was a pretty good weekend. Jay got home late Friday night from Seattle and Saturday was a pretty relaxed day for cleaning, quilting, watching a movie (27 Dresses...great flick) and getting ready for my garage sale. Sunday was pretty much more of the same. Jay leaves again on Tuesday for Savannah but he'll be home on Thursday. It's just that time of year for his travels.

I had some fun making these little basket blocks also. They are 6" blocks and I am for the most part paper-piecing them. They come from the french quilting magazine, Quilt Mania. I love that magazine!

Well off to work so I can buy more fabric....lol

bad blogger

I'm such a bad blogger. I'd rather read other people's posts than to write my own. Yesterday was a good day. Much accomplished...nothing really finished but I'm closer. Here are a couple of blocks from the Truly Scrumptious quilt that I'm working on. I started it as a way to use up left over fabric from Kara's 18th bday quilt, (which is at the quilter's) and I have really enjoyed the hand work.
